In October 2008 Reynolds had plans to run the New York City Marathon for his father who, at the time, suffered from Parkinson’s Disease.
Reynolds starred in minor roles before landing a lead role in the sitcom Two Guys and a Girl, before starring in a range of film genres: comedies, dramas, action films and voiceovers in animated features.
Reynolds' biggest commercial success came with the superhero films Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018), which he played the title character Wade Wilson. His performance earned him nominations at the Critics Choice Movie Awards and the Golden Globe Awards.
In 2017 Ryan Reynolds was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
In January 2019 Reynolds was named the new face of Armani Code, leading a campaign for Absolu scent, an addictive spicy oriental fragrance with a base of tonka bean with notes of rum, vanilla and hint of green.
Ryan Reynolds would make an ideal brand ambassador for any international organisation seeking such a prestigious high-profile figure.
