Mike Caudill has established a name for himself as a writer for several respected automotive publications over the years. However, that is only one aspect of his work; he is also an on-air TV personality and commentator, a corporate consultant to blue chip companies, and the owner of DRIVEN360, a public relations and marketing agency.
So it's no surprise that when the Go RVing campaign hired Mike Caudill as a brand ambassador earlier this year, he embraced the role wholeheartedly.
Mike Caudill, his wife, Flora, his two teenage children, and the family dog set out on a 27-day road trip in the southeastern United States after renting a Winnebago Forza motorhome from Campers Inn. He frequently posted about his experiences on the Go RVing Facebook page under the header "Go RVing with the Caudills".
Despite some minor issues that come with an extended RV road trip, Caudill says his family bonded while visiting scenic locations, eating delicious food, and staying at several beautiful RV campgrounds.
“That’s what it’s all about—the memories we get to create with our families,” Mike Caudill said of RVing.
In late September, Caudill attended his first Elkhart Open House Week.
“It was epic,” he says. “I was in my element. I had so much fun. I never felt so at home around so many amazing people and had such a great time. And I was able to marry two of my great passions — RVs and live television.”
While in Elkhart, Caudill filmed segments for CNN and several TV stations across the country in which he discussed the RV industry's strength and the trends he observed while touring RV manufacturer displays. Caudill also produced several Facebook Live segments for Go RVing's Facebook page, in which he interviewed company CEOs and other executives about new technologies, floorplans, and other noteworthy developments.
Caudill's visit to Elkhart came after a trip to Washington, D.C., in June to participate in Advocacy Day during RVs Move America Week, where he met with members of Tennessee's congressional delegation.
